Got milk yesterday, after taking a week to remember. Most ask milk everyone has milk, well we drink soymilk but for a cappuccino at home I love good ole vitamin D, its not enough to make my tummy upset. So here's a quick easy caramel I made this morning, in less than 10 minutes
Makes a little over a half cup
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Sugar
Water, enough to to make sugar like wet sand(2-3 oz)
3 Tbsp Butter
1 Tbsp Vanilla paste or extract(I used powder)
1/4 cup Heavy Cream
Additional, Heavy bottom pot and spatula
Directions:
I always like to put a layer of water at the bottom of pot and then add sugar on top. that way you dont need to touch or mess with and still get wet sand consistency. Put pot on stove and put on high heat.
Now you need to stand and watch, since this is a little amount it will turn brown/amber color fast. You looking for reddish brown color, once you see that(even if its on one side of pot), remove from heat.
Add butter and vanilla, mixng until incorporated.
Then add cream in steady stream. It will bubble up so be careful.
Let cool and put in glass container for up to 2 weeks. Enjoy with your /espresso/coffee, I did.
